CloseRev. Robert Recio -
The Hope of Faith (Habakkuk 2)
Referenced three times in the New Testament (twice by the Apostle Paul and once in Hebrews) Habakkuk 2:4 summarizes what it means to flee our own righteousness and strength in order to rest and receive the work of God for his people. Amidst Habakkuk’s crisis of faith, God’s response reiterates to the prophet what God’s justice is and the hope that we have that God’s glory and peace will one day cover the earth. In the meantime, we join Habakkuk in living a life of faith in God’s Word.
From Series: "Habakkuk"
A minor prophet, Habakkuk speaks to God’s people living in a world that's not the way it's supposed to be. It speaks to the suffering and pain we see and also the providence and promise-keeping character of God, who never ceases to bring about his purposes. It’s a small and at times difficult book that speaks powerfully to those who cry in response to this broken world, “How long, O Lord?”
