You Are What you Worship (Psalm 115)
Martin Luther wrote, “Whatever your heart clings to and confides in, that is really your god.” While bowing down to household idols and figurines are relatively rare in our culture, one of the enduring truths of Scripture is that we are no less prone to idolatry and false worship. Psalm 115 shows us the worthlessness of our idols and helps us see that the antidote to the idolatry within our hearts is having our hearts confronted with the Martin Luther wrote, “Whatever your heart clings to and confides in, that is really your god.” While bowing down to household idols and figurines are relatively rare in our culture, one of the enduring truths of Scripture is that we are no less prone to idolatry and false worship.
