CloseRev. Robert Recio -
Drinking the Cup (Matthew 26:36-46)
Descending further down the path leading to the cross, Jesus leaves the upper room to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane. This scene reveals Jesus’ heart for sinners and invites us to behold the goodness, beauty, and love of our Savior and comforts us with his powerful work as our faithful high priest, like us in every way, but without sin. We do well to come back to Jesus in Gethsemane to behold his perseverance in going all the way in the will of his Father out of love for his people.
