CloseRev. Robert Recio -
A Faith that Saves (James 2:14-26)
This Sunday James hones in on the nature of saving faith. This passage evokes confusion among readers of Scripture: we celebrate the biblical teaching that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone and yet doesn’t James contradict this teaching in 2:24, “You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone”? We’ll unpack this passage to see that the faith that holds on to Christ for salvation is always a faith that is alive and active in the life of the follower of Jesus.
