CloseRev. Dan Warne -
To Him Who Surprises Us (Ephesians 3:20-21)
In this fourth sermon in the series Doxology, we will find ourselves in Ephesians 3:20-21 at the tail end of one of the Apostle Paul’s prayers. Paul is at a bit of a loss when he gets to the end of this prayer. He finds himself grasping for words to describe our surprising God.

Doxology isn’t a word you often bump into outside of a worship service. It’s a Greek word that roughly translates as “a word of glory” or “glory speak,” and often shows up in a very formal, even liturgical way in the New Testament. But these doxologies are anything but formal, dead rituals or just something we can go through the motions reading. They are explosions of praise born of deep reflection on glorious truths about God and His grace to us in Jesus.
