CloseRev. Robert Recio -
At the Cross (Matthew 27:27-56)
As come to the cross and crucifixion, we’ll see how Matthew focuses so much of this event on how Jesus is mocked; as King of the Jews, destroyer of the Temple, and the Son of God. And yet, ironically and gloriously, in every insult, Jesus’ mockers proclaim who he truthfully and ultimately is. At the cross Jesus reigned as king, provided access to God as the true Temple of God, and was most clearly revealed as the Son of God and Savior of sinners.
