CloseRev. Robert Recio -
A Song of Faith (Habbakuk 3)
Habakkuk ends with the prophet’s closing thoughts in the form of a song. In some of the more memorable images in the Old Testament, Habakkuk gives us a beautiful poetic picture of faith and serves as a reminder that a resilient and enduring faith is gritty in that it can stand up to the realities of this world and is grounded, not in spiritual platitudes and wishful thinking, but in God’s redemptive works in this world culminating in the cross of Christ.
From Series: "Habakkuk"
A minor prophet, Habakkuk speaks to God’s people living in a world that's not the way it's supposed to be. It speaks to the suffering and pain we see and also the providence and promise-keeping character of God, who never ceases to bring about his purposes. It’s a small and at times difficult book that speaks powerfully to those who cry in response to this broken world, “How long, O Lord?”
