Happy Friday everyone!
We had a great time at our church picnic last week. Thanks to all of you who made the effort to come and get to know others who call Christ Presbyterian, “home.” We have a few more opportunities coming up for fellowship. Ladies, our Fall Women’s Ministry Kick-off Luncheon is September 13. We will celebrate our church’s ten year anniversary on November 1. Our elders groups, sermon response community groups, men’s Bible study, and youth group will keep their regular schedules through the fall.
As Greg Hammond continues his recovery, we have an opportunity to help the entire family by providing meals for them. Please visit the Take Them a Meal page and sign-up for a slot.
Please remember to pick-up some extra school supplies for our friends at International Christian Adoptions while you are out shopping this weekend. If you have a chance to pick-up grocery store gift cards for our friends at Olive Branch Ministries, we will be collecting those through the rest of the month, as well.
August is a five Sunday month and as is our practice, we are asking you to give a special offering on the fifth Sunday for our friends in need. The money that you give specifically toward our Mercy Fund (or Diaconal Fund) goes toward rent, utilities, grocery bills, and medical bills for people in our congregation who need occasional help. It is a very practical way that you can be the hands and feet of Jesus for those you sit next to, pray with, and sing along with as we worship God together.
