This Sunday, we have the blessing and privilege of baptizing Claire Gonzalez. Please continue to pray for Silver and Lisa as they adjust to life as new parents. I got to visit with them this week and hold little Claire as we talked about the nature and significance of baptism. We will also have an adult baptism in a few weeks!
This Sunday is the fifth Sunday in August and as is our practice, we are asking you to give a special offering for our friends in need. The money that you give toward our Mercy Fund (or Diaconal Fund) goes toward rent, utilities, grocery bills, and medical bills for people in our congregation who need occasional help. It is a very practical way that you can be the hands and feet of Jesus for those you sit next to, pray with, and sing along with as we worship God together.
