It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!

Happy Friday, everyone!

The day has finally come: this Sunday will be my last Sunday as your pastor. I’ve heard there is already a congregational pool where you can bet on how many times I’ll cry during the service, at what points during the service I’ll cry, and when the first tears will be shed! In all seriousness, this is a bittersweet day for Sarah and me. I’m glad that we’ll have one more week with you after this Sunday before we head to Texas.

This is also the last Sunday that we will be meeting at Chaparral High School. Please remember that beginning June 5th we are temporarily moving locations to Temecula Preparatory School located at 35777 Abelia St. in Winchester. We will be meeting at Temecula Prep the months of June, July, and the first week of August with plans to move back into the theater at Chaparral on August 14th.

It’s not too late to sign the picture frame mat and RSVP for the lunch on June 5 at Ronald Reagan Sports Park. There is a suggested donation of $5/person for the lunch. If you need more information, please see Barbara Castle or email Robert Recio at rrecio@christpca.net.

For the month of May our highlighted missionaries are Josh and Allie McArthur in Costa Rica (Scott and Crystal Moran’s daughter and son-in-law). There are a few items left on their wish list. If you purchase one of the items below, please let Angela know so that she can keep the list updated.

  • Threshold bold stripe curtain panel/Brown
  • “Lill” lace curtains
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Trappy Cajun pepper sauce
  • Pamela’s baking and pancake mix-gluten free
  • Magnet knife strip for wall
  • Chlorella supplements (2)
  • Epsom salt
  • Anti-itch cream
  • Scabby for kombacha
  • Kinder/PreK homeschool workbooks, flashcards, etc.
  • Essential oils
  • 1988 John Deere (contact Scott)
  • Donated funds/skymiles

May is also a five Sunday month, so as is our practice, we are asking you to give above and beyond your normal offering toward our deacon’s fund. Please mark your check or envelope with the words “deacon’s fund” or “mercy offering” so we can account for it properly.

Have a great weekend! I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday.

In Christ,
Eric Landry

It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!

Happy Friday, everyone!

The most important announcement for you to remember is that beginning June 5th we are temporarily moving locations to Temecula Preparatory School located at 35777 Abelia St. in Winchester. While Chaparral High School undergoes extensive repairs, we will be meeting at Temecula Prep the months of June, July, and the first week of August with plans to move back into the theater at Chaparral on August 14th. Please speak to any pastor or elder if you have any questions.

Please remember to sign the picture frame mat and sign up for the lunch on June 5 at Ronald Reagan Sports Park. There is a suggested donation of $5/person for the lunch. If you need more information, please see Barbara Castle or email Robert Recio at rrecio@christpca.net.

It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!

Happy Friday, everyone!

And an early happy Mother’s Day to you, too! For a wonderful perspective on mothers, mothering, and Mother’s Day, read and share this article by my friend Le Ann Trees, “Are You My Mother?”

Would you please pray for Mike and Kristen DeWit today? Mike has been suffering from severe nerve pain in his jaw for more than a week, requiring multiple trips to the ER for pain management. Kristen often has migraines and is fighting one off today. They are weary and hurting. Please pray that God would relieve them of their pain.

For the month of May our missionaries are Josh and Allie McArthur in Costa Rica (Scott and Crystal Moran’s daughter and son-in-law). Please consider contributing to care packages that Scott will bring with him next month when he travels to Costa Rica. Please click here to download a letter sent by Crystal which contains the requested items. Angela Jenson will be keeping a kind of registry list of items purchased. Email her to let her know what you’ll be bringing and she’ll keep everything updated to make sure they get what they need. Please also use the linked prayer guide for all our missionaries this month. It contains their most recent updates and needs.

Please be sure to plan to join us on Sunday, May 15, immediately after the worship service for our farewell picnic for Dan and Megan York. Dan will be graduating from Westminster Seminary in just a few weeks and they will drive back to Washington where Dan will take up a year-long internship at Resurrection PCA.

We’re half-way through our spring Sunday School session. It’s not too late to join in and benefit from quality Christian education for you and your children. All classes begin at 9:30 am.

Have a great weekend! I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday!

In Christ,
Eric Landry

ICA Update

ICA-Logo-Retina[1]

Thank you for the prayers. The feedback we received from participants is fantastic and it is such a joy to offer families and professionals practical strategies to deal with children in crisis. We went from 17 participants last year to over 100 this year. To that end, please pray for ICAs on-going outreach to parents as we begin a support group. The second meeting is this Thursday evening.

Also we are currently working with the County of Riverside to coordinate a Welcome Home USA weeklong camp program where older, ages 6-15, adoptable children can stay in the home of a prospective family for a week. We run an intensive morning program doing life books and exploring the child’s concept of family while listening to their desires and the afternoon is filled with fun activities. Please pray God provides us with solid Christian families willing to do the necessary paperwork and training to open their hearts and home. Pray for successful matches. If you know of any adult or older teens who are willing to volunteer to lead a VBS type program we would appreciate the contact.

As you know, prayer support is vital to our work and we can’t thank you enough!!!

Thanks and blessings,

Laura L. Marinucci
