It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!

Happy Friday, everyone!

This is the week! This Sunday is our 10th Anniversary party at the Temecula Community Center (28816 Pujol St, Temecula, CA 92590). Please stick around the church for appetizers and directory pictures. You can make your way to the Community Center by 1:00 pm.

This is also the last week for you to nominate men to the office of elder and deacon. Please complete the nomination forms and give them to Gary Gunnerson.

Would you please bring a canned good or dry good for our friends at Olive Branch Ministries? We’ll be collecting your donations for several weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. You’ll also have an opportunity in November to join some of the families from Olive Branch in preparing food baskets for families in need. Stay tuned for more information.

Don’t forget to “fall back” this Saturday evening! Set your clocks back one hour.

Please read our 2015 Q3 Report to the Church. This brief letter (just two pages!) will bring you up to date on our current financial status as we enter the last two months of the year. As you read the letter, please prayerfully consider your own giving to the church.

Have a great weekend! I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday.

It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Thanks to all of you who have made Sunday School a priority for your families. Our teachers are reporting that their classes are full and fun! The adults class continues this week in the Westminster Confession of Faith chapter 11: “On Justification.” Justification is one of those great biblical and theological words that we use to describe how sinners–like you and me–are made righteous before God. Do you know what the two sides of justification are? How can we be sure that we are right with God when so much of our lives still seem to be characterized by sinful behavior? We’ll tackle these questions and more at 9:30 this Sunday.

We’re slowly filling up the RSVPs for our 10th Anniversary Celebration. November 1st is coming up quick! We’ll meet for a fun lunch immediately after the worship service at the Temecula Community Center on Pujol Street (near Old Town). We still need a few volunteers. Please let me or Sue Weaver know if you are willing to help.

Remember, the session is asking you to prayerfully consider nominating new elders and deacons. You can pick up a brief explanation of what to look for in potential nominees and a nomination form on the bulletin table this Sunday. Nominations are now open. We will receive nominations through November 1.

Have a great weekend! I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday.

It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Sunday School continues this week, with classes for all ages beginning at 9:30 AM. Parents bring your kids and help them get grounded in the depth of our faith! Then, come to the main auditorium and work through the implications of chapter 10 of the Westminster Confession of Faith: “On Effectual Calling.” Why do some people believe the gospel, while others do not? What about people who have never heard the gospel? What about infants who die before being able to articulate their belief in the gospel? These are important questions. Do you know the answers?

You’ll notice a new sign-up sheet on the bulletin table this Sunday. It’s time to RSVP for our 10th Anniversary Celebration! Save the date: November 1st. We’ll meet for a fun lunch immediately after the worship service at the Temecula Community Center on Pujol Street (near Old Town). If you are interested in helping with some of the small jobs that still need to be fulfilled, please let me or Sue Weaver know!

Finally, the session is asking you to prayerfully consider nominating new elders and deacons. This Sunday, you can pick up a brief explanation of what to look for in potential nominees. There is also a nomination form for you to complete.

Have a great weekend! I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday.

In Christ,
Eric Landry

It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!

Happy Friday, everyone!

It is good to be back home from my trip to Peru. It’s also good to finally be on the mend. I came back home with a variety of illnesses, but I appreciate knowing that many of you were praying for me this week.

Sunday School begins THIS week, October 4th. Classes start at 9:30 AM. Nursery is available for kids up to 3, then we’ll have age-appropriate classes for everyone, including the adults. Our fall session is just 8 weeks long, but it is a great opportunity for intentional discipleship, learning, and fellowship. Hope to see you there!

Finally, the session is asking you to prayerfully consider nominating new elders and deacons. We’ll talk more about it on Sunday, but please begin praying that God would provide additional, faithful leaders to our church. You have an important role to play in that process. I look forward to talking more about it with you in the coming weeks.

Have a great weekend! I look forward to worshipping with you tomorrow.

In Christ,
Eric Landry
